Ventura

Welcome to Ventura!

With an eclectic mix of single family homes, townhouses, and small apartments, Ventura is likely one of the most affordable places to live in Palo Alto. Architecturally speaking, styles range from English and Spanish Revival, California bungalows, to quaint cottages sprinkled with newer two-story homes.

Oregon Expressway, Alma Street, West Meadows Drive, and El Camino Real bound the neighborhood of Ventura. Though residents have to deal with traffic and train noise from the Oregon Expressway and CalTrain tracks respectively, Ventura does compensate by being close to the downtown area on California Avenue. Here you’ll find a spread of boutiques and delicious restaurants an appealing sight.

Additionally, homebuyers can spend significantly less on a home in this neighborhood while still being able to send their children to some of the top Palo Alto Schools like Barron Park Elementary, Terman Middle School, and Gunn or Palo Alto High School. The Palo Alto Unified School District is renowned for its quality education.

Another attractive element of this area is the recent addition of the bike boulevard. Now the bikers of Ventura (be they saving the environment by commuting to work or just out for a leisurely ride) have their very own route running along Park Boulevard.
