Welcome to Crescent Park!
Located in North Palo Alto and bounded by Channing Avenue, Middlefield Road, and Woodland Avenue is the prestigious neighborhood of Crescent Park. Homes here were originally built in the 1920s and today the neighborhood is rich in architectural diversity with elegant mansions on University Avenue as well as Craftsman and Mediterranean on other streets. Another appealing aspect is that lot sizes tend to be larger in Crescent Park than in other areas of Palo Alto. And, despite its close proximity to Highway 101 and University Avenue, there is virtually no noise. Crescent Park remains a tranquil haven from the busy life in Silicon Valley.
Crescent Park has many neighborhood amenities like Pardee Park with a great playground for children and Rinconada Park as well. Families who live north of Lincoln Avenue send their children to Addison Elementary while those living south of the street send their children to Duveneck. Both elementary schools are ranked exceptionally high in Palo Alto as well as the state of California. Afterwards, students attend Jordan Middle School before moving on to Palo Alto High School.
If there is one downside to the neighborhood it’s that it is located in the flood zone and homeowners are encouraged to obtain flood insurance. Furthermore, the location makes it impossible to add a basement and thus residents are unable to utilize the full potential of their square footage. However, this did not prevent Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg from settling down in Crescent Park!
